GREEN HOME INSPECTION
A “Green” Home Inspection is an examination of a home designed to identify home systems and components which enhance home energy-efficiency, health and comfort and sustainable practices and materials… the features of a home which, when considered together, determine how “Green” a home is.
In addition to items typically inspected during the General Home Inspection, it includes the use of the Green Feature Checklist.

GREEN FEATURE CHECKLIST
This proprietary checklist was developed by inspector, author and inspection course developer Kenton Shepard to serve an increasing need for the identification and verification of the presence of over 350 green features, each relating to energy-efficiency, healthy homes and sustainability.
SELLER RECOGNITION
As a seller who has installed expensive systems or components which conserve energy, improve healthy aspects of the home environment, use sustainable materials or encourage sustainable practices, you deserve recognition for this investment when you sell. This checklist represents a confirmation of committment which can be passed on to a home buyer.
BUYER PROTECTION
"Greenwashing" is a term which describes the act of exagerating or making false claims regarding the green features of a home. The Green Home Inspection is designed to protect you as a buyer by offering specific definitions of terms which in the past have been vaguely defined. Claims must meet established citeria developed by credible authorities.
